Agriculture is an engine of economic growth and development. Agriculture constitute the main source of employment of the majority of the world‟s poor. The share of agriculture in total employment in developing countries constitutes 53% of the total work force in 2004. The history of the world provides overwhelming global evidence that general economic growth of any nation must be preceded or at least accompanied by solid agricultural growth.
